Mercy Young’s academic achievements are as remarkable as her musical endeavors. She holds a degree in English and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar, a testament to her commitment to holistic growth. During her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto state, she contributed her expertise as an assistant lecturer in the English department. Notably, she served as the Corpers Liaison Officer (CLO) in 2010, showcasing her leadership and dedication to community service. Her early passion for education is exemplified by her role as the pioneer Girls Senior Prefect (GSP) at Community Secondary School Onyadama.

Mercy Young’s roots trace back to Onyadama in the Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Born into a polygamous family of seven on her maternal side and the seventh of 15 children on her paternal side, she emerged as the cherished first daughter of her late mother, Mrs. Lydia Felix. Despite the abandonment by her biological father, the love of her late mother and her unyielding faith in her Heavenly Father propelled her forward.
